First Love/Game
Shopping! and Sayonara
04.03.2010
So, it is nearing the end of our time here in Japan. We went out shopping to spend the last of our Yen.
Liz and Erin decided they wanted to buy kimonos. We looked but could not afford to them.
Kimono

Yukata
.They considered buying the much cheaper yukata, but decided not to. Just so you know, Yukata are made from cotton and Kimono are silk. Yukata are lighter and more for summer, where as kimono are pricier and more formal.
We decided to buy some dolls instead to give to our families as gifts.
Our shopping journey now took us to the Akihabara shopping district.
This is where you buy your technology. Cameras are the hottest thing to buy here, because if you buy one and bring it home to Canada, it will be like you visited the future. Technology is much more advanced in Japan, and more awesome.
Because we are poor students we did not buy any cameras, just looked at them. After some dreaming about owning a super futurisitic camera, we went down to Shibuya.
Shibuya Scatter Crossing
Here Trevor went crazy at the massive, multi-story HMV and Tower Records. He bought lots of cds, and then we went back to our hotel to get ready for our trip home.
We are spending our last night in a ryokan in the town of Narita, so that we are closer to the airport for when we have to head back to Canada.
A ryokan is a traditional Japanese inn, kind of like a bed and breakfast. It is very nice to experience the traditional side of Japan, because it is in such contrast to the materialism of the big city.
We leave for Calgary on JAL tomorrow, sadly. Sayonara Japan.
Here are some funny pictures just because:
